Dragon Boat Festivals are so popular that cities from Hartford to Hong Kong, Denver to Duluth, Racine to¡­Richmond (yes, Richmond!) are holding them every year to celebrate this important Chinese holiday.  The very first Dragon Boat Festival in Richmond, Va. will take place at the Children's Museum of Richmond on June 14 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM.   CarMax is the exclusive sponsor of the event.  Admission is $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for children (under age 13), payable at the Museum entrance.  OCA-CVC members get in free if they RSVP by June 9, 2008, or $5 for adults and $2 kids afterwards.

Family Activities at the Event
The family event will include several activities, such as the making and racing of miniature Dragon Boats on the miniature version of the James River in the Museum's new backyard area, coloring pictures of Dragon Boats, drumming, and making scented sachets.  Free Chinese food will be available.
